Katy grew up in Kenya and would be described as hard-working, straight forward, and passionate.
​She holds a Masters distinction in Business Strategy Politics and the Environment and is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers (FICS).
Katy’s shipping career started in 2001 when she joined Associated British Ports and undertook various operational and commercial roles. Later she became a consultant at Drewry Shipping - carrying out due diligence for investors on various ports around the world.

In 2010 she returned Kenya and is now the General Manager of Seaforth Shipping (Kenya) Ltd.
​
In 2017 Katy became the first female Chairman of the Kenya Ships Agency Association (KSAA) and in 2019 Katy was invited to join British Chamber of Commerce Kenya (BCCK) committee.

Kabar has been part of Seaforth since the 1990s and is known as the ‘Mwalimu’ (Teacher). Kabar's academics, coupled with his experience, gives him an unrivalled understanding of the intricacies of shipping and logistics in East Africa.

He is always available, to staff and our customers, to help when challenges are faced and he always happy to share his wealth of experience and knowledge in his quest to find solutions.
​
Kabar provides specialised advice and in-depth market information to many of our customers, often giving them a commercial advantage.
​
He started his career in KNSL (Kenya National Shipping Line) as a management trainee and later joined Seaforth as Liner Shipping & Operations Manager.
​
He is also a Director of affiliated businesses that provide draft survey and logistics services.

Alex enjoys solving problems and has a thirst for industry and political knowledge.
He is focused, determined, and has excellent communication skills. He has very close links with the various Défense Attaches and is the point of contact for most Navy vessels calling in Kenya.
Prior to joining the shipping world in 1995 he worked in hospitality and has travelled throughout East Africa. His early shipping experience was gained at Inchcape where he travelled regularly to Dubai for training.
Then in 2003 he joined Seaforth as an Operations Manager. Although still focussed on operations, Alex now leads the commercial team as well.

He has an in depth understanding of vessel and cargo requirements and has a 'hand-on" attitude to get things done.

Hilmy Ahmed

Hilmy is calm, diligent, and focused – all critical skills for his role as Finance Manager.
Hilmy is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Finance and an MBA in Operations Management.
He started his career in 2009 and moved to Seaforth in 2015.
He enjoys paying attention to detail and analyzing business trends.
He embraces new technologies and ensures Seaforth’s Finance department provides a quick, simple and transparent service to our clients.
He sets and meets his own deadlines to ensure FDA’s are accurate and dispatched promptly.
Hassan Kombo

Hassan cares about people, will always help and is above all an excellent 'multi-tasker'. It is no wonder he has found himself in charge of Seaforth's Crew Department.
He manages all the crew transfers and their requirements as well as running Seaforth's Manning Agency sector looking after seafarers' welfare.
​
He started his shipping career at Beacon (British East Africa Container Line) in 1993, after almost a decade he joined Spanfreight in the container control department and in 2011 moved to Seaforth as the Container Control Manager.
His determination to grow and his willingness to learn has resulted in various promotions and in 2017 he became head of the Crew Department. In addition to managing the crew, he also manages our NVOCC businesses and is the Customer Account Manager for Hoyer.
